We always seen women were treated badly in India from the news. Some were experience serious of gang rapes without social justice in the legal system. Some were being sexually insulted just because they use the public transportation such as bus to visit a friends or get off from work,. etc. Some victims were being punished in their own village in stead of the attacker. What exactly is going on in the country and can anybody share about their opinion on this issue ? Share with us ?

I have read and heard about this and I don't understand how it can keep being this way. Maybe women need to start standing up for themselves and say No More.

There was a time I had an argument about people being insensitive towards parents out here in my country. There was an Indian lady who felt I should not belittle the country. But if we are not willing to address the problem and want to push it under carpet, how will it ever be addressed Marcy?

"You can tell the condition of a Nation by looking at the status of its Women." Jawaharlal Nehru, Leader of India's Independence movement, and India's first Prime Minister. Today's India offers a lot of opportunities to women, with women having a voice in everyday life, the business world as well as in political life. Nevertheless India is still a male dominated society, where women are often seen as subordinate and inferior to men. This doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of positives to report on, however, even though India is moving away from the male dominated culture, discrimination is still highly visible in rural as well as in urban areas, throughout all strata of society. While women are guaranteed equality under the constitution, legal protection has a limited effect, where patriarchal traditions prevail.
