Yes to 70-Degree Days

Just this last Friday, we had snow and our high temperature was in the 30's. I don't function well in the cold, so I stayed in, lest I become miserable.
Today, it was sunny with a high in the 70's. And my bike was begging me to take it out (it's not a female and it doesn't have a name, other than Trek Fuel EX 7.)
So I did. I fell .33 short of hitting 18 miles for the day. I logged the stats into bikejournal.com, and discovered I've ridden 70 miles this month/year, which is a lot more than I had at this time last year.
I should have another 12 miles tomorrow, as I've been summoned to jury duty and I'm planning on riding my bike there.
(I took the above photo last summer. It's my bike, in front of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.)

It's on the Westside of Colorado Springs. Big, beautiful park.

I have a friend in Chicago who rides his bike all the time. When I broke my ankle last year he took his bike to the train depot he'd ride from the bus terminal, then drove me to the bus terminal to pick my brother up. Mind you, I broke my ankle in snow. He's got more fortitude than I have.

Yeah I'm not much for riding in snow. Kudos to him. I admire people I see doing it.

Yes, I live six miles from Downtown Colorado Springs. I actually live less than a mile from the back entrance to Garden of the Gods.

Oh yes, I have a couple of really good, expensive locks. And I take the seat with me as well.
