I was a teenager then. And confessions every Saturday was a rule in our house. We had two priests and one of them was very old and inconsequential. My peers were discussing about the benefit of going for confession to this priest as he just gave the absolution without going into whatever was said as per what one of the peers had mentioned. I took a decision to go to him one Saturday as I really wanted to go past what I wanted to confess without questions asked. But that was not to be. Not only was I made to repeat. There was a discourse on it.

Have you ever been embarrassed in any situation when you least expected it?

I enjoyed looking at all the different confessionals in the ancient churches we visited.

I think that confessions was what led me to stop going to the church when I was a teen. I had my first comunion when I was 7 and the priest made me feel so bad that I was sure that I would go to hell.
