In the Philippines most Catholics stops eating meat not named Fish during lent. This is the season where McDonald's serves Fillet O fish and 7-11 serves Tuna Hot dogs . I think some Catholics even go far by going vegan during lent because few years ago a priest criticized Catholics who were indulging their selves with seafoods during lent. I am not Catholic so I am going to have some steak or maybe some stew this lent. I will not eat "Land meat" in front of my Catholic friends who will be on fish and veggie diet because it might be insensitive to them.

For us it would be the time for fasting. It's okay since we rarely eat meat even if it's not Lenten season.

I own a slaughter house though, It is bad for business. I notice there is an increase of price when it comes to fish.

@CaptAlbertWhisker People tend to eat fish and veggies during holy week that is why there is a price increase.

@LdeL0318 Have you heard about the Priest who wants to ban seafoods like Shrimps ,crabs and lobsters during lent because those things are delicious.

I am not a Catholic either so I don't fast or sacrifice. But I am not much of a meat eater all year round because I am a health advocate.

How good of you to be sensitive for your friends though you are not catholic but I guess they have to understand it also on their part. I do fasting every Friday at the start of Ash Wednesday, what I do is I do not eat one full meal or I do not eat for 24 hours depending on my physical capacity that time.

The devil is somehow tempted to to tease by eating a steak on their front but I decided to not to because it is disrespectful.

You're being so thoughtful for not having meat in front of your friends! I like that. It'd be cool to try one of those Tuna Hot dogs though, so they really turned tuna into hotdogs?

It tasted like chicken hot dogs. That is how I can describe the tuna dogs. They were only available I think during Lent.

I am not a Christian besides I do not fast normally too. I eat less even in normal course and I personally do not attach fasting with religion as well.
