Sometimes all it Takes is a Single Rose

The day of my surgery, my husband took the day off from work to go with me and stay home to watch over me.
Yes, we did stop at Dick's and he snuck in that half-price bow.
On our way home we stopped at a local Stewart's shop so he could get his cigs. I asked him to get a container of coffee ice cream. I needed to eat soft foods for a few days and what better excuse to have my favorite ice cream than that!
He came out with the ice cream and a single rose. It isn't often he buys me flowers. No need to spend a fortune when a single rose will do.

The last time he brought me flowers he plucked them from our garden. That was nice too.

@ElusiveButterfly Oh I wouldn't let mine pluck flowers from my garden - I like them to stay where they grow.

I rather like getting a minute rose bush or something, so I can plant it later. Last tooth stuff I had done I wanted ice cream too, so soothing on the mouth

@Jessicalynnt we bought ours from Aldi. Maybe if we bought one from a greenhouse it would do better. Maybe it is also the soil. Who knows. My aunt had one that was gorgeous. It had the most fragrant pink roses that I have ever seen.

I believe my grandmother also introduced me to the lovely confection. That and maple walnut.

That is a lovely comment. Thank you. I feel there is nothing better than a single rose.

I much rather prefer a single rose or flower of some sort to a bouquet.

I have many bud vases that are perfect for that single rose.

There is no need to spend a fortune to impress someone when a single rose brings more joy than a bunch.

I don't ask for much, but when he does something this sweet...it melts my heart.
