Yesterday, I wrote about shopping/comparing online prices for an electric dryer that my boyfriend and I purchased.
While I was napping this afternoon - I received a call stating my dryer is delayed for shipment. The number provided to call back wouldn't go through so I contacted Sears via online chat. The online representative told me he didn't see any delay and my delivery date will remain the same.
A hour later, I received the same call/message so I contacted Sears Customer Service from the website. The lady assisting told me there is a delay due to Sears not having the dryer from the manufacturing available to ship.
Then... why offer the dryer to sale. I thought since tomorrow is a Holiday (Easter) the dryer would be delayed another day or so, but no! Delayed an additional week than estimated. Instead of 1 week as estimated, we have to wait 2 weeks!
I told the lady to go ahead and cancel my order because I would rather order it at a different location ex. Home Depot and price match to receive arrival sooner.
She stopped me right there and offered me 100,000 SYW points to spend at Sears. If you convert the points that is $100! I asked her, how soon will the points become available for me to spend at the store? She said 3-5 days. Of course I was skeptical of receiving the points/spending credit so I jot her name and reference call ID.
Right when I got off the phone - I refreshed my account and the points are in and ready to be used.
So now on top of my savings with going with Sears. I saved another $100.
I did not even have to complain though bf/I are disappointed it'd take a little longer but we can still wash clothes and air dry outside on the line.
We are happy with the extra $100 bucks - we will probably purchase some weights he's been eyeing.
Overall: I am very happy with Sears customer service. I was on the phone for less than 10 minutes too!

Yesterday - my boyfriend and I spent a few hours and shopped a couple stores for a new electric dryer. Reason being - the one at his place is broken! To match...

It's nice when a CS Rep is empowered to help without having to ask a supervisor first.

Not everyday have I experienced this experience so I was happy. The chat associate couldn't even give me any coupons when I was placing the order. I had coupons in my SYW like spend $300 get $35 or like $7 off $35 but he said they cannot be applied. Common I'm spending $500+! I'm not asking for a major discount just the ones in my account.

@teamfreak16 Yeah - I suppose they're two separate. When I was talking to the sales associate - I told her, so.. how do I guarantee my points will be credited in my account within 3-5 days. she told me I can call SYW (Shop Your Way) program for further information/update. So it's like 1 company is SEARS and the second is SYW (For sears/Kmart)

@infatuatedbby - It's almost like two separate companies, the way they can't take coupons, even if they are in your account.

I agree. Sometimes Sears can be a joke. I returned a tablet and only got store credit. Like really?

What? Really! Did you have your receipt or something? I never had bad experience besides this. I would have spoke to a manager.

I am sorry to hear. My parents had a issue way back from a dent upon receiving their stove. They were quick to adjust the price. I'm happy to get the $100 for the inconvenience. But it's a selling tactic because everything is so expensive there - we ended up using that $100 and using it toward a gym set for my boyfriend and had to sell out another $200 lol.

No rush ~ he can still wash clothes just air dry lol. After the washer - the clothes is well spinned but for $100 , why not!! Another 7 days after the estimated date wont hurt us.

Well the delay is a bummer but atleast you got the SYW credit. I haven't shopped at Kmart or Sears in years. You can buy big tubs of washing powder at Sears so I would use the $100.00 on that.

Delay is a bummer, but we can wait another week on top of the estimated so by April 7.
I don't shop at K-Mart because the nearest one to me is like 40 minutes away but the $100 will be useful as my boyfriend's birthday is around the corner.
I usually buy laundry detergent from Costco in bulk and lasts a long time!!
