Today was productive in that I met up with my best friend who is getting married in October to do some wedding dress shopping. I expected it to be an all day ordeal but she ended up finding one about an hour after arriving to Davids Bridal, a big wedding chain store I think in the midwest. I was surprised. Previously I had gone with my sister wedding dress shopping and she ended up going to about 8 different stores.
It was a hilarious experience this time because when a person finds "the dress" the sale folks literally give them a bell to ring, announce it to the whole store that so and so has found their dress, and ask the customer to close their eyes and make a wish. Lol! Seems pretty silly to me.
She ended up paying $800 for her wedding dress. I was cringinf on the inside as my friend was counting out the $100 bills.
Am I cheap or is that expensive?
do you have any funny wedding dress shopping experiences?

I think a lot of people overspend and put on a show during weddings. I know its a once in life time but then again 90% of those people will get a divorce within 5 years.

i havent experience this, yet. it sounds like a fun thing to do though. specially with what happened to you in the store, i find that silly too.
i dont know if i'll buy my own wedding dress or just rent one haha.. cant decide. and $800 dress is more than too much for me.

Wow - your best friend found "the dress" real quick! It took my sister several stores and different dresses to find her dress. And even after finding her dress she had to get it altered. Back then, they didn't do anything fancy but now for social media - they have signs saying the dress or sometimes even complimentary champagne to congratulate the bride to be/crew.
Very nice she found the dress she loves! Congratulations to her!! I'm not married yet but I don't want a big wedding. I'm not sure how much I'll spend or my budget then...

In my country, most couples avail services of clothes shop. They just rented the wedding dress and the rest of the gowns and suits for the participants. They took a package deal for the wedding and that includes, the wedding planner. It is really expensive to get married. This is only applies for couple who wants marriage in a church.

Oh, for me it's too expensive for a wedding dress to be used only once. I prefer to rent one rather than buying an expensive dress. Well, I bought one during my wedding and now the dress is on the our attic.
