This story is the behind the scenes events that took place after God raised Jesus from the dead. The idea is found in the KJV of the Bible. I am not the author of this account, but rather God. Specific scripture verses at the end. Some people do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus because the chief priests of that time period tried to make it look as if his body was stolen.
The Pharisees were talking in the temple at the first hour of prayer, which is to say in our time, six o'clock am, Middle Eastern time.
"What did you hear?"
"Strangely, it's being noised abroad that the grave is empty. Some of his followers are claiming that he is risen. That can't be true. I was told that some of the chief priests and other Pharisees went to Pilate the day after Jesus was put to death to request a guard at the tomb. While Jesus was alive, he would tell others that he would rise again after three days, so we wanted to make sure the tomb was secured. I know that Pilate agreed to put a guard at the tomb, so this very thing wouldn't happen. Maybe the guard fell asleep, so his disciples were able to steal him away. Someone must have gone in the night to steal away his body. That would be the only thing that could make sense. Then they can say the prophecy is fulfilled, when in fact it isn't."
As soon as the first Pharisee was done speaking, another began to tell about what he had heard.
"I heard the guard talking late last night. He said that while he was watching the tomb, the area was hit with an earthquake and then a man in white showed up. He was so bright it lit up the area. When the guard looked at the tomb, he saw that the stone had been rolled away. The man's appearance was shining so bright it was difficult to look at him directly. The guard said it happened so fast it was almost as if he was frozen in time, and couldn't stop the events unfolding in front of his eyes."
After the earthquake moved the stone away from the tomb, the angel sat upon the stone. Then the next morning, before it was yet day, came Mary Magdalene to visit at the grave site. She saw the stone taken away from the tomb. She ran to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved and told them that Jesus was removed from the tomb and she did not know where he was put.
Both Peter and the other disciple ran together to the tomb and looked inside and saw the grave clothes lying inside, but they didn't enter in. It was some time later that they found out that Jesus was raised up from the dead.
Happy Resurrection and Happy Easter!
In Matthew 28:2 the angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled the stone from the entrance to the tomb and sat upon it. Then in...
Matthew 28:11-15. ...and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

I replaced the collage which was too small to see each filter, to the one with a wood background only.

Thanks, Valerie. I wrote that years ago on WDC, although it's my idea of what could have transpired behind the scenes from the viewpoint of the unbelievers based on Biblical record.
I hope you and your family, or son have a nice Resurrection Day too, Valerie.

@MarshaMusselman I did have a good day with my family. My son has to work. I still have our dinner unmade, but it will be leg of lamb, but probably not until Wednesday, his next full day off as he has school on Tuesday and works tomorrow.
I hope you had a wonderful day with your family.

That is so very true, and many of us here will be meeting one day in the clouds on the way up, after his return. The rest maybe we'll meet after the final resurrection or maybe we'll all be partying together then.

@MGjhaud Everyone won't be there, only those that are born again of God's spirit and believe in Jesus Christ.

Did you spend time with your family? We celebrated the day the Saturday before since my brother and his wife spent the time in CA with their own family. I worked easter day itself and it was one of the most boring days. I don't remember it being that bad last year, but maybe I worked the midnight shift then, I don't really remember. Or, I got it off to be with my family. That's probably what really happened.

@MarshaMusselman Yes, our niece and my Mom were with us for the Easter lunch, they have just left to go back to Italy, today the roads are crowded. I am doing nothing for dinner, we ate enough at lunch, this evening I would only like to have some fruits.

Happy Easter to you, too Anna, and your husband and niece if you'll be spending time with here also. I just got up a little bit ago, dressed and we'll be heading to church soon. We celebrated family time last Saturday as my brother took his kids and grandkids to Disney World in CA this past Thurs. I'll be working later today and not cooking anything special.
I did cook ham in the crock pot a few days ago since my daughter missed our feast last weekend, and we still have that to finish if whenever. Enjoy your day.
