Destroying communities

l live in just out of the city, love where l live, chose to live here to escape the hectic city life.everything is perfect until one and I'm wondering if you have same problem in your area. Addiction problem, although we for sure have more non-addicts,just 5 addicts in a neighbourhood can make the place insecure, what with shady dealers coming around to sell. l have a neighbour who is an addict, keeps knocking asking for cents, bread, rice you name it he`s knocked my door to ask for it.Yesterday and today there was a ring at the door, when l answered it was the neighbour asking to be let in seems he once more lost his key. Addiction is destroying neighbourhoods and communities, let`s not forget they steal most of the time to support this expensive habit. What about your neighbourhood?

So right Erica, what worry me is that it is really destroying families and communities

@miniam People will never be able to escape this unless they somehow can afford a piece of island or something like that.

I'm sure there are addicts in our neighborhood, as there are addicts everywhere. Most of the people around us are older retired people, though.

Lucky you, older people are more responisble,it`s the youngsters that are affected and are a problem

@miniam No, but unfortunately they drive cars and get into accidents. This is not quite the problem is once was, but it can still kill people.

We are very lucky here in our area that there are no addicts in the neighbourhood .. but not far from us , they have same problems as yours.. it's awful .. just be extra careful when dealing with them because addicts as you know are irrational ..

@miniam You are right, Canton Tessin is quiet and the part south of Lugano is even more quiet. It's where I live.
