I had a little pleasant surprise today. I looked at my paycheck for this Friday (which cannot come soon enough) to see a .49 cent per hour pay increase on my check! I inquired to the boss and other coworkers who informed me that "the union contract updated" although Im not sure what that has to do with pay increases. It was a little added bonus and adds up to about $19 a week which adds up to $1000 extra a year. What the heck! Have you had any pleasant surprises like this lately?

I would assume the union demanded a raise . I had that a couple months ago a 0.10 cent raise.

Yeah! Arg! My last job was like that. Youd wait all year for that 10 cents. Our only problem os that after 5 years the salary tops out which kinda stinks.

@maezee Seriously! That is ridiculous. So someone who's been there 5 years vs 20 years doesn't matter. I find most companies try to save money and don't give raises anyways.

@ricki_911 there is some slighy longevity pay that is ridiculously low. Like I think after 15 years you get a .50 cent raise and then again at 20 and 30 years. Im not sure why that is!

Oh, that's a big amount after a year. Just enjoy such surprised. When I was working, every year our pay checks increased and there were times after few months of working it also increased. Anyway, that's a very awesome surprise. Congrats.

More money per month is always good when prices keep going up.

That will be a good help. I just got surprised I was still able to receive a check from my previous job.
