No one else I can rely on but me ..

I received a message from someone who was asking for financial help. What got me thinking is what she wrote saying that there's no one else she can rely on to help her except me. I was awake all night thinking about what she wrote. Of all people I know, she was the one who had all the opportunity to have a good education and the best out of life. She had all the financial support. But she wasted here youth by being a consumer and never a contributor. Everyone just got tired of her I guess..
I realised, that the reason why I am in a position I am in right now despite the fact that I grew up in desperate poverty in a dysfunctional family with no hope, no high education, no moral support, just sacrifice mentality, is because I realised after sacrificing my younger self for them, that there is no one else I can rely on but me. No else that can give me love, honour, integrity and human dignity the way I deserve but me.
I have observed even from my youth that those who rely on others all their lives, end up with no one to rely on to. Not even themselves, they can't rely on. They spend the rest of their lives lonely and lost.. Just like this woman who is already in her late 40s.
It is the strong reliable character that you build for yourself that will attract you to people who have good intention. The right people who will inspire you to learn how to honour, respect, love and validate yourself and to show you that you deserve better..
You attract what you work hard for..

I refused to help this time because I believe that there are people who are beyond help ..

She is busy trying to lay a guilt trip on you. Because you have learned the lessons the hard but enduring way, you know the truth. Until she is able to be responsible for herself she will have no one. It is such a good feeling when you can sustain your own goals.
