We were on holiday in Goa. Goa as you know is full of beaches and where there are beaches there are bound to be shells. It is only those with an eye for art could make use of those shells and that is what we found in that lady sitting in a stall and creating pieces of art.
I was enthralled by what I saw. I picked up this mirror which you see has been intricately designed each shell picked up to complete that beautiful pattern around it.
You will agree beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder as well and I was the beholder.
I did not bargain I just gave her whatever she asked for. No one bargains with artists.
Have you found anything that you could have bought in the recent past? .

@jaboUK i have known these 5 star hotels buying such pieces of art and selling them in their shops at exorbitant rates without mentioning the name of the artist.

Atleast you could display it. I have my mirror displayed in the hall. We do not use it.

@allknowing No, because it is so different from the rest of the objects I have in my house. I think I will gift it to a friend who lives near the sea.

yes, there are mirrors like here. i remember your post about buying something off the street from a man and when i saw it in one of your photos, i was surprised how big it was standing by the window.
"no one bargains with artists." i like that mindset. it's an acknowledgment that you're on equal footing.

Yes That was a goblet made from bamboo strips. That man was literally in tatters sitting by the road side busy weaving. Thanks for remembering it.It is an insult if you bargain with an artist (lol)
