Most people would select "Field of Dreams" number one and have a solid argument. Everyone is familiar with this movie. A mysterious voice tells struggling Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner), "If you build it, he will come." Ray clears out a section of cornfields to build a baseball diamond despite his wife's reluctance. Based on W.P. Kinsella's story, "Field of Dreams" is fantasy and baseball and most of all, about fathers and sons and unfulfilled dreams. Ray had a troubled relationship with his baseball fanatic father who idolized Shoeless Joe Jackson. A big moment is the rustling of the corn and Shoeless Joe (Ray Liotta) emerges. Perhaps the ultimate baseball movie. Image is Pixabay

It's such a feel good kind of movie, whether one likes baseball or not. Most everyone I know loves that movie for everything it encompasses.

@JohnRoberts I was never a major baseball fan when I lived in NYC. Now here in Riga, Latvia we have so many fields and places where guys could play baseball and I know little boys would love to learn the game. I just don't understand why no one adopts this game.

I've heard it's really good, but I've not seen it. I'm just not a Costner fan. Did like him in The Untouchables, though.
