Now, before there were remote controls, you had rotary television sets and then push button ones. Plus, you have limited channels so really you can't do much of 'channel surfing' since you are limited to maybe five or maybe six channels and doing so is more taxing since you have to be near the television set to manually switch channels.
That's a lot of hard work!!!
Nowadays, you have cable channels that run up to over one hundred channels and a handy remote control to do your 'work' for you. How convenient is that? Very convenient, let me tell you that!!! So yeah, people nowadays can 'channel surf' more conveniently with all those channels and with the remote control.
Of course, when you hear, 'There's nothing on tv that is good to watch!', that's your cue to start channel surfing. There might be something or someone good to watch in the weather channel.

In addition, we can now watch several channels in one tv screen. Talk about multi-viewing!

Give people more choices and they will likely ditch everything. Decisions... decisions...

Really? You're cutting down on channels and you'll still be charged?
Wow! SMH moment for me!

@allen0187 cutting down channels means i have to customize the package and that means custom package charges will be different.

@allen0187 There are days that the available programs on TV are so uninteresting that it's good to have some DVDs ready to watch.

I've no time to watch television, but even if we have the cable at home,if I have a leisure, I just opt to open the Kapamilya channel.
