I really thought this 2009 movie was a run of the mill one and I just taped it for something extra to watch over the weekend. I really like Harry Connick Jr. and hadn't seen him in anything lately so thought I would try it. Come to find out it was pretty cute. It had the usual storyline we have probably all seen before. City girl offers to go to this tiny town of New Ulm, Minnesota to oversee the restructuring of a manufacturing plant. Lucy Hill is the high-powered consultant and she meets with a way cool reception from the town's people. She is finally able to warm up to the town and is accepted. She is then ordered to close up the plant after it takes too long to get things going. This is going to put the entire community out of work and she's forced to reconsider her views, goals, and priorities. A little romance, small town charm, freezing weather and icy roads this movie really turns out to be entertaining and sweet. It was actually filmed in Winnipeg and Slkirk, Manitoba, Canada. Burr! You could tell it was cold by the cold breath in the outdoor scenes. Renee Zelweger plays Lucy and Harry Connick Jr. is Ted Mitchell, the union rep. But, the real fun comes with J.K.Smmons and Siobhan Fallon Hogan. Fun characters.
