Here is the entrance of the Underground River Park located in Palawan. Inside the cave, there are lots of limestone formation. It is a long river though there is a passing through the end of the river, it is not open for public already. In every boat there, they will provide a tour guide who will tell and describe you the different rock formations inside. There are also lots of bats inside so the smell is not that good but tolerable. I was amazed in the big dome they shown us wherein the ceiling of the cave is so high. Though I want to take a lot of pictures, I cannot because I have to hold on to my son who would want to take a dip in the water.

I am not so much into cave either but the difference here is that I do not have to crawl or go up using a rope only.

@sunrisefan Me and my family were very lucky indeed. Beauty of nature at its best... That is why I promised myself to take a tour in different provinces of our country every year with my family. I want my children to appreciate also nature and its beauty.

@rakski If the picture is beautiful, the actual sight must be twice as beautiful. You're lucky to have the chance to visit the place :)

We went there and indeed the rock formations are amazing but the smell of bats did not please me. I am very sensitive with smell for it can trigger my mild sinusitis.

Wow, that is nice. I wonder how many times the locals go inside the cave that is not opened to tourists. I am sure they know the way in and out.

@rakski True. The locals must have made a lot of money from selling postcards and other items to the tourists. I will like to live in this kind of place. it is so beautiful and there are many opportunities to earn from tourism.

That's so interesting. Will it open again? If so, when will it open? This will be a very nice place for the travellers.

@youless actually three fourths of it is open for public. Once inside and you reached the area where public are not allowed, the boat needs to turn around. yes, it is a nice place to travel. So majestic

Palawan does have a lot of attractions, but caves are quite scary since it's dark and many creatures live in it... watching the Descent movie has got an effect on me

I know when we are there, we can really say how God made the nature and mother Earth and we can say that He is very creative and artful, this underground river is so lovely and amazing to look at.

I have heard of the place but never been there. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see the underground river cave in the future. Instead of taking vacations in foreign countries we should learn to appreciate our country's natural beauty.

I agree with you there my friend. I learned that lesson way back when I met French volunteers here and I go with them exploring my own country. And from then on, I promised to visit and see different provinces here.

It´s an impressive cave and the color of the hue of the water is fantastic! I´m afrraid of bats which look like rats! That would have prevented me form entering the cave!

Oh definitely keep hold of your son - he is more important than a photo! It sounds like a great place to visit - I went to somewhere similar to that in Majorca years ago.
