Petrol Costs Too High?

I find that I spend at least £80 on petrol a month at the moment and that is a lot considering I only work 15 minutes away. I have an automatic which I guess is the main reason it consumes so much petrol but the car is economical due to its engine litre. I just wish the costs of petrol was not so high so I would not have to spend so much each month. Imagine if I worked 30 minutes away and in the traffic it would make it even more expensive!! Do you find your car uses up petrol a lot and the petrol prices are still too high?

I don't drive nowadays, but I am quite fascinated by the oil industry and petrol prices. Most times I walk past a petrol station, I grab a snapp of the price. At least around here, I have yet to see the 99p litre station.

@gudheart Oh yes, a couple of bikes and a range of trailers for those bigger, heavier loads, including cats

Here the gas fee is increasing and it is not reasonable. Many people complain about it. In fact besides the expensive gas fee, the parking fee is also very expensive and sometimes it is even hard to find a parking lot in the downtown. And you still have to pay for the tax and other charges when you have a car.

How about the parking? If you add up both and the cost is high, you might as well take public transportation to work a few times a month. This will definitely reduce cost but increase travelling time.

@gudheart Fortunately you have free parking. I wonder why public transportation cost more than driving. it does not make sense.

parking is free at work, so I don't need to pay for that. public transport does work out around the same if not more expensive.

Well, at least, the price of petrol come down to what it was. I can't see it going down anymore and I've noticed it going back up. Now over the pound, I know it was down to $1.58 (1.05) a gallon not a litre in places about a month or so ago.

The cost of Petrol in the US had plummeted this past year and we are only paying 1.99 a gallon. I find when I am in the UK that the prices are very high.

I thought the cost of petrol in the market is plunging down? Because the public transport fare in Manila was decreased.

That is a lot to spend on petrol or gas as we say here in Canada! Do you do a lot of pleasure driving as well?
