Not Happy With That Store

Sunday I left the house for Spencer, Iowa around 11:30 am and didn't arrive home until 7:30pm. What a long day but at least I stopped on the way there and had some lunch. I was supposed to pick up some things at Menards but they didn't seem to have their act together and I was not happy having to wait so long for them to find my items. Of course then having to pull around to their stock area where my items were supposed to be was a waiting game again as someone messed up the order and at first said that item was being shipped, well I was not a happy camper and had to go back into the store and take to the manager. Finally they found where my merchandise was but it will be a long time until I go back there again. Do you have things like that happen when you order and pay for something then they don't seem to have it where it should be? The picture is of a building I saw on the way coming home that caught my eye.

@Jessicalynnt I had to since we have no places here to buy things like that or if they do sell something like that here it is way more expensive.

@Jessicalynnt Since I live in a small town and the closest large town is over an hour away for me it is not possible.

That is a disappointment when you paid for something, go pick it up and they can't find it. That has happened to be a few times but it was due to the person helping me being new!

Hmm they sound like they may need some training..in a job they are getting paid for. How awful for you marcy. It is infuriating to say the least. I had a time at Walmart today too.

@TiarasOceanView They were so unorganzied it was rediculous and how bad for your time at Walmart. I am afraid I would not hold my temper over their comments.

@Marcyaz I had to marcy..as you know nowadays it can be dangerous to even voice dissatisfaction. At least in this place it is.

Over the years, I have had stuff like that happen before. It doesn't leave you with a very pleasant feeling toward them at all.

@simone10 I certainly do not have a good feeling about that store any longer. It was very disheartening.

@Marcyaz Companies don't realize anymore how important good customer service is these days. I believe a company could go out of business because of it. I am surprised by it everyday. When I was growing up and working, I was always taught how important it was and that was our goal, to make the customer happy. We were never rude or snappy, even when being yelled at. It wasn't allowed as the customer was always right even when they were wrong.

@simone10 It is this way at most places nowdays always bad customer service. Companies just don't seem to get the fact that people will stop going to that store and go somehere else that might be a little better.

This usually happens if supermarkets are changing things or if they have trainees.

@miniam This was not a grocery store and these people were not trainees.

@PatZAnthony Yes it can become complicated when people don't do their job. It will be a long time before I go there again.

I always pick out my things on the spot, to avoid that. Like the buildings. So old!

This would be so annoying particularly if you had made a long trip to pick up the goods.

I have only experienced things like this when buying fast food or eating out in a cafe or whatever. There has been SO many occasions where a fast food restaurant will forget an item or two. They still charge you but just don't remember to put it in. Or if I was to eat out. Sometimes the order will be wrong. But only little mistakes like them putting in mushrooms when I said I didn't want any. Just little things like that but that doesn't bother me because all I do is pick them out. But it does bug me when I pay for something and NOT get it. Having extra is less annoying than buying it and not getting it.

It is annoying when a company messed things up.
