oh, hi

This is not my cat. This is next door's little boy-cat. He's cute, affectionate, cuddly, brazen, brave and highly inquisitive.
This is not next door's living room. This is my living room.
I pottered around in the front garden today. Three hours of weeding, pulling, bending, cutting ... Little boy-cat and girl-cat from next door popped over to see what I was up to. Little boy-cat disappeared shortly after becoming bored with the Get in the Way of the Hoe game he was playing with me.
I found him and his sister in my house. Dora was just watching them, completely uncaring. Oh, cats in my house? Who cares. Oh, cats in my garden? *hiss-hiss-hisssss* Qyzen was hiding on the landing, poking his furry little head around the bannister. Such a cowardly custard! I've raised a real scaredy-cat!
After managing to get them out of the house, I shut the door to the outside world and pottered about in the kitchen. I turned around, and by golly, who's sitting inside my house by the kitchen door?
I'd left the living room window open.
My cats are used to me leaving the window open so they can come and go as they please on beautiful days. I'm going to have to keep it shut, aren't I? Or, do I just give in to temptation and become the crazy cat-stealing lady I desperately want to be when I'm old?
So many decisions to make! But at least my garden looks gorgeous.
*smile*

perhaps ya could do a cat-share thingy? seems that cutie's most content to be'n yer company. there's various cats outdoors here, though they're feral 'n keep their distance. i ne'er leave the windows open fer the cat here, she's prone to bringin' critters i'd prefer she'd not inside 'n lettin' 'em go, lol. took me nearly a week to find a lizard last year. it looked purty pitiful when i did, no doubt dehydrated 'n half starved.

@Poppylicious i thought i'd gotten the cat trained. went nearly a whole season with her bringin' all in alive 'n unharmed fer a cookie. then she resorted back to her ol' feline self :( i prefer to've the need to hunt 'em down indoors alive than to find body parts any ol' day.
don't reckon she's e'er brought in a butterfly?? not that i've seen anyhow. she's prone to small snakes, lizards, birds 'n baby bunnies...her'n the pup're quite prone to the latter 2. 'course, the pup wishes to keep 'em fer herself'n'll put'em'n her kennel. cries horribly when i take'em away, poor dear. won't tell ya how many baby cottontails myself'n a friend've wound'p raisin'. can't always find where she's gotten 'em from.

@crazyhorseladycx We've had birds. If they brought lizards and snakes home I'd be petrified {mostly because they're not native to the UK, lolz}. Baby bunnies? Awww!

He has! Our houses are semi-detached and the layout in both is identical, so obviously my house must be his house too! Cat logic. :)

@Ronrybs Nope, but I'll continue to try, even though I do secretly want him to live with me!

I didn't see any other cats, now that I think about it. There's a few local cats who wander around the streets like they own them. They were probably sunbathing in their own back gardens today.

If it's any consolation I knew I had to make good use of the nice spring weather because by the weekend it'll probably be chucking it down. :)

Cats will gravitate to those they know they can trust @Poppylicious . Didn't know you'd be a "kitty-sitter" did ya?

@Poppylicious why don't you offer your services as a holiday cat-sitter?

I would happily do that for an occupation if it paid enough! It would be heaven for me!

That will be a hard choice because if you leave it shut you will be getting up and down to let your cats in and out.

Yes, and in the summer they'll never be able to decide if they want to be in or out. I shall be getting a lot of exercise!

Me too, and thank you! It's bright and colourful, which you obviously can't see in this picture!

He is a pretty boy. His sister is quite handsome. It's like the pretty/handsome genes got mixed up in the womb!

*waves* ... long time, no see! I do feel honoured. I don't mind them popping in, but I know Qyzen will hide instead of show them he's the boss. He needs to man up!

It is a lovely cat. Very like the one that my Nan used to have. I am a dog person. Our friends in the next door caravan have just had a new puppy ... I will post about her this week. A 10 week old Shorkie xxx

. I've been gardening too this afternoon and nary a cat in sight.
Good luck with keeping the various cats where they should be.
