I had 8,000 emails

Have you ever opened an old email account to be totally shocked at how many emails you had? I recently opened my Yahoo account after 2 years of not checking it and I literally had over 8,000 unread messages. Holy heck!
Most of it was spam after making money on offers that apparently sell all your information. I had about 4 personal emails so far and Ive only deleted about 2,500. Lol. A million to go.
Have you ever done this?

I think I also responded to your post regarding the Yahoo email account. I mentioned then that I have email accounts which I opened to corner the accounts with just my name and no unique number identifier.
Once in a while I'd open these accounts and see the million emails, mostly spam.
I'd just do a mass-delete if I had time.

I have and quickly just delete it all. If the personal emails were important they would have contacted me through other means.

@maezee OMG, way too much. My Yahoo is infamous for spam. I don't get as much in my gmail though.

ive got 3 email accounts -- one for business, one for personal use and then for my online accounts. i dont normally check the last two but when i did sometime ago, mother of heavens ive got more than a thousand and another almost 2 thousand emails on the other. it took me hours to delete and unsubscribe from them all.

I am sure I have a lot of unread emails sitting in my yahoo mailbox as well. I haven't been checking it for a long time. I used to subscribe to some newsletters and I am sure there are spam mails as well. Good that you were still able to retrieve the 4 personal emails. 
I am organizing my current mailbox (gmail) now, perhaps I will check out my yahoo mailbox after this.

I used to have huge amount of emails everyday. This is when my social media accounts are linked in my email and are allowed to send notifications on my email. I decided to block all the sites that I don't need. This made my email cleaner. I only get to receive those I need.

I am linked to quite a few emails and I currently have 54,000 mail. I am so lazy to delete them, lol!

8,000? Whoa! That's a lot!!!
I think I will try to open my old email account too and see if I have received these emails.
