Fun Facts: Elvis Presley

United States
April 7, 2016 11:35am CST
Here are a few facts that I found interesting. Globally, Elvis music has sold more than ONE BILLION records – more than any other music artist. Graceland was constructed on 14 acres, in the Memphis suburb of Whitehaven, out of gray Mississippi fieldstone and white stucco, in 1939, by Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Moore, who named the home for Mrs. Moore’s Aunt Grace. Elvis bought Graceland in 1957. More than 750,00 visitors tour this home every year. Elvis Presley made 31 movies. Although Elvis conducted a trans-Atlantic telephone interview with “American Bandstand’s” Dick Clark, Elvis never appeared on “American Bandstand.” Picture by Pixabay

Yepper! He was really an excellent entertainer. I've heard a FEW people say that they did not like his voice. I just can't imagine that.

@jstory07 Yes, he will. I remember the fifties very well. In fact, I have my friend, Mike, sing the song "Lost in the Fifties" for me at karaoke all the time. He always dedicates the song to me.

Wow! So you and your Dad knew him. He tried to keep a low profile while he was in the Army. He wanted to be treated like everyone else, or so I've heard.

Yes also like the song and guitar solo in it, wish I could play it. She sang it well, its one of those songs. The video was filmed in Canada not that far from me really. Do you still like to karaoke.

@Bluedoll Oh absolutely. I love karaoke. I have my own karaoke machine at home too and sometimes we have friends over for karaoke night. You did hear me sing on you tube, didn't you? Check it out. It's not a video. Just my voice singing and a photo my son took while he was in Jamaica. It's not perfect. I can hear my mistakes. But, it's not too bad. I recorded it about two years ago at a karaoke bar, so it was just me singing with a sound track.
