Have You Ever Raced in a Car on a Race Track?

This looks like what he was doing after going around the track, only the car he was in was yellow.

Saturday morning and it’s cold here in Virginia The forecast was correct for the weekend. It’s very chilly here and I’m staying home today. I hope it warms up again soon. At least, we aren’t getting snow, but the wind is blowing cold air in from the North. I’m glad that my son arrived home safely yesterday from a trip to San Antonio, Texas. It was a work-related trip, but he also got to go to well-known ranch with a race track and was able to race in one of the cars. He sent home video, on Instagram, of him racing around the track with a helicopter above him, filming the race. He loves doing things like that. But, I am always anxious for his safety, of course. He is a Business Development Manager for a HUGE tire company and they often have events like this in which he always tries to participate. At least, he’s on a race track when he does it, but I still get anxious. I know, I know. I shouldn’t worry so much, but I do. Doesn’t every mother worry about her child’s safety?

Definitely we mothers worry about our children no matter what age they are. I have never been in a car on a race track but I used to go and watch the races in my home town. They are very exciting to watch and cheer on the leaders.

Of course every mother worries :) But it's good you don't try to stop him - not that I guess you'd have much chance. I can imagine he loves these special opportunities that come his way.

He and his wife used to own a Mustang that they had fixed up for drag racing, and they both raced for a while, but after their son was born they sold the car and settled down a bit. Now, my son takes advantage of these rare opportunities to race when he gets the chance. Me, I don't really understand the "thrill" of it. LOL I only see the danger. I don't encourage him, but I don't say anything against it either.
