The professor just never showed up....

Hey all and Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is going less irritatingly than mine. I had a class today from 10:00-12:00 - required for graduation (graduating in end of April here) - pertaining to our internships that we are completing by the end of this semester. So, me and about twenty other students get together in the assigned room....And we wait. We waited an hour and finally left at 11:00 when the professor still wasn't there. No e-mails sent, no phone calls answered, nothing at all. I was super annoyed to have to use a vacation day from work in order to attend this. Now I will not be able to get any more Saturdays off in April. I am concerned - what if he says it's required we attend NEXT weekend? I literally cannot do that. I am freaking out a little bit on the inside. And in a less selfish aspect - I wonder if he is OK? What if something big and unexpected happened? Have you ever had this happen? How is your Saturday going?

It is already Sunday here in the Philippines. :) Professor not showing up for class is somehow common in my university. And we're happy if he/she doesn't show up because it means we wont have a class. But I guess it isn't that a big deal because it always happens on weekday but if it will happen on weekend and the professor didn't show up I will also feel irritated to spend my time waiting for nothing. But on the other hand I hope your Professor is ok. :)

Yeah! I was concerned. I did hear from him eventually and he apparently was sick and slept through his alarm.

I could remember when I was back in school (even the graduate courses I took while I was already working), we would give the professors a certain amount of time, less than 50% of the whole class-time, before we'd start leaving. I could remember days when I didn't want a class, and would appreciate a day off. But it would suck though if you had to miss work, just for the class, and the professor never even shows up! Saturday was so, so.

Yeah! I have taken quite a few classes. Seems like the professors were eiyher on time or no more than 10 minutes late...

I´m having a wonderful Saturday day! Excet that yesterday someone hacked my account on clixsense; I immediately send an email to the site; they sent me a new password to access the site, but I was not able and today I´m waiting for another response. Besides this, everything seems fine to me on this sunny Saturday day in my region. Hope you get another chance to take your class.

@maezee I think it was because that day I changed my password but I did not took care to include especial characters or capital letters. After the changing, I immediately received this message, ¨someone has taken over you accout.¨ and the account was cancelled.

You know what would be really great would be that he would accept that his students were there and give you all credit just for showing up.

Yeah me too! seems kind of bizarre. Hopefully I didn't sound too self-centered. Was very upbset but now I am more so concerned. I guess it's very unlike him to be late let alone no-call no-show.

I have had a similar day to yours and your post just reminded me about it. Hopefully the rest of the week won't be as stressful for both you and I

Back in my college years, there was this person who checks the attendance of professor in each classroom. Once this guy passes our room and the prof isn't yet around, that's the sign that we can already leave the room. I hope you can get another leave from work should your professor requires you to attend another class. Sunday morning here and I wish my day would be okay
