Update on My Dad

I got to the hospital and Dad is still with us. He is unresponsive, and according to his orders, he was taken off the oxygen he was on until we could all get there.
He is breathing on his own, but he does have a death rattle, so his time is drawing to a close.
We talked to the doctor at one point who said it could be hours to days. So not knowing how long he will be with us, we said our goodbyes and came home.
I know one of the next phone calls I receive will be from my brother or sister letting me know of Dad's passing. Soon he will join Mom, and my brother, as well as his parents and sister. I know he wants to see Mom again. My sister said it's all he's talked about for the past couple weeks.
So that's the update. I was still wide awake when I got home so I answered just one post comments for the Urgent Prayers, and now at 5:21 AM I am headed to bed.
Don't expect to see me very early. My plans to go to my niece's baby shower are canceled, though the shower is still taking place. By the time I got home I would only have gotten two hours of sleep before I would need to be up to get ready to go.
So those of you who normally read my Daily Bible Study, I will have it, shortly after I get up.

Hope that the end is painless and peaceful for him.
If he is still alive the next day, and still breathing laboriously, I think all of you should assure him that everything is well, and that you will take care of each other.
Sometimes the dying wanted assurance so that they could depart in peace.

@just4him Good to hear that.
My friend's dad passed away a couple of weeks ago.
He refused to let go because he was worried about his wife.
My friend and her siblings had to assure him that they would take care of their mother.
After that, they could see him relax, and passed away in peace.

Thank you. Dad just passed about 5 minutes ago. I just got the call from my brother who has been up there since 8:30. He's with Mom and my brother now.

Thank you. Dad is passed from this life into eternity. He joined Mom a few minutes ago and my brother.
