Do You Really Need That Many Computer Monitors?

First, let me start off by saying, I am talking about personal computer mointors at your home. Yes, I understand you might work in a carrer that you need to see so many things at once (stock broker, patient vitals, etc.), but I am talking about home/personal use. I talk to my friends and some of them have 4-5+ computer mointors. I ask them why and of course they say they want to review multiple screens at the same time. Yes, I do see that it could be helpful in some extreme cases, but I find it funny that these people feel like they can't live without so many monitors. Yes, this is not harming me if they have so many, but it seems like it is over the top. I like 2 mointors, because I can easily compare things. Do you have a lot of monitors and I am just curious, what do you use them for most of the time?
