Poem – Flower Arranging

A quite tough challenge for me this time from @Jessicalynnt using the words lilac, violet, orchid, mulberry, and lavender . Here goes. Poem – Flower Arranging I don’t feel qualified for this one, Not knowing lilac from violet All hope of a decent poem is gone I’m just going to get Drunk on Mulberry wine Though lilac flavour tastes just as fine. My writing is full of purple passages And an orchid downstairs needs water While dehydration ravages and savages It just as my mind is lamb to the slaughter Of a Muse with-holding creative fire And refusing point blank to inspire Me as I struggle between ultra-violet And ultra-violence to get Something to write about. The muse wants to bring out Lots of my inner floral botanical thinking When I just want to write about sex, war and drinking. Lavender barely rhymes with calendar I need rhymes for broken noses So if it must be flowers Make it roses or posies Something that gets my writing off the skids I need carnivorous plants like man eating Triffids Maybe this wouldn’t be such boring crap If my Muse suggested a Venus Fly Trap, But for your Valentine this will have to do – Roses are red, and violets are blue…. HAHAHHAHA, ok that might be one of my favorites. I almost tossed the words out and started over, I had trouble with them too.
