Mercurial Flow

I personally haven't heard this word used in years. Mercurial is such a great description of a human - which means we are actually all temperamentally - multi faceted. How do you fit in the design of things - Are you volatile or maybe a little capricious? Excitable like me or sometimes fickle like only a woman can be? Maybe a little changeable or unpredictable taking life one day at a time, or even one second at a time! Erratic like a quicksilver teenager or inconsistent like a hormonal young boy? A little unstable, unsteady, fluctuating, ever-changing, kaleidoscopic, fluid, wavering, vacillating, moody, flighty, wayward, whimsical, giddy, impulsive; or any other wonderful adjectives to describe your state of mind or your HUMANNESS? " "We are too mercurial for our own good." ~ Erin Morgenstern We are only but human, every day and with every circumstance - we are Mercurial!!

I have only ever known the word used in the reference to the element itself.

@Asylum that is strange - I use it often . . . or when necessary to apply (mood swings)

I think you have mercurial moments somewhere that balance the ebb and flow of your life?

I am more or less, well, chill-unless I'm having a stressful day in which case...well, I'm still pretty chill:). I think its more or less because I get so busy and I deal sometimes with ppl in crisis, and in some way I had to learn to be grateful for the moment in life...and a lot of the time I have to be calming for people and reassuring...in some way I think that kind of shaped my mentality a little. Btw, I'd never heard that term before, but I actually like it a lot:)

there are so many - you can choose every hour which one you want to be! That's the Grand thing about every individual - we have the choices

@Inlemay That's very true. I could choose a different one for every hour and then be 'inconsistent' overall. :)

You brought to mind, with you description, a day in high school when we were allowed to play with a bottle of mercury. What a fascinating substance. What we did with it , would never be permitted in the classroom today.
