I Hate My Hair!

When I wash my hair, I WANT to wash it and let it dry and be done with it! Is that asking too much? After all, that is all my sister has to do. For me... not even close.
I have to wash it and then condition it because I must have the "driest, most course hair on the planet. It takes it a good week for the natural oils to saturate each strand so that it looks something close to soft again. I swear my horse had softer hair than I do!
Anyway, once it is washed, I have to put it into rollers to take the wave out of it and then when I take the rollers out, I have soooo much volume that I look straight out of the 80s!
Now that means that I have to slowly take every roller out and flat iron so that it takes out the volume. Now I have to admit... when all is said and done... I do have pretty amazing hair! IT LOOKS JUST LIKE MY SISTERS!
I would love to know the ancestor I can thank for giving me these tresses. He or she would not be my favorite!!

I would be quite happy to trade. Mine just wants to turn into a triangle... like that cartoon character.

@Hate2Iron I'm not sure what cartoon character you mean but I wouldn't want my hair like a triangle. :)

Lol Im sorry to hear the frustration. I have the opposite problem. I cannot wash my hair enough. Itvgets great literally every day no matter which shampoo I use. I wish I could wash it less often. It is super time consuming to sit and blow dry and straighten it after washing it each day. Grr. Have you tried any type of deep conditioning or home remedies for coarse hair? I have heard good things about olive oil and coconut oil.

I'm trying to keep mine just shoulder length... a few inches shorter than yours. It's a little less work lol!

Wow, that sounds like a lot of work. I feel blessed to just wash mine and let it dry.

You should try Loreal's Extraordinary Oil shampoo and conditioner. I have tried it and love it. My hair is no longer dry. One of my clients has hair that feels like straw. After one wash with the product it is soft and supple.
