Thief steals from St. Jude Dream Home

St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee is a blessing for thousands of children over the years. Danny Thomas' dream of saving the lives of children with caner has come true. But that hospital relies on donations.
Fund raising events are ongoing with donations going to St. Jude. One such event, held annually, has run into a small problem. Each each a contractor donates his services to build a home that is raffled off for $100 per ticket. A brand new home is built - for free - everyone involved donates their time and money to make this happen.
This year's home is currently in the construction phase. A thief broke into the garage of the home and stole expensive tile that was to be used throughout the home. This is very disheartening to those working on the dream home....it's like stealing from the kids at St. Jude.
There is video surveillance of the man and hopefully he will be caught soon. Shaw industries, who donated the tile, will replace what was stolen.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man suspected of burglarizing several properties in Apison, including the 2016 St. Jude Dream Home.

Yes, I guess he might think there is a big black market for floor tile.

@JohnRoberts The word is out about them/him, so I don't think he'll find a buyer unless he sells to a friend or pawn shop.

@AbbyGreenhill You would be surprised the market for construction items. He can sell them to contractors. Seriously.

I wonder why the thief stole the tiles.
Tiles are not that easy to sell, and since the tiles are expensive, that means it is not that hard to track.
Once the news is out, everyone will keep a lookout on the tiles, and question the seller closely.
I wonder how the thief managed to get away with the heavy tiles.
He must have made many trips to carry the tiles to his vehicle.

@AbbyGreenhill Even though the box is not big, but it must still be heavy.
This is really a very stupid thing to steal.

They have the photo of him and will help. Someone will know what he did and turn him in. You can see in the article the boxes of tile aren't too big so lifting one at a time isn't difficult.

Anyone who steals for a charity like that is messed up - no way he'll get away with this.

We're in 'carpet country' - Most of the big name carpet/flooring manufacturers are in No. GA and we even have Shaw Industries in our little town - it's the main industry. Most people in this county who work, work at Shaw.
