Streets of Fire featuring Michael Pare was probably not the greatest movie ever made, but it is a lot of fun for an old soldier like me to watch. And I really enjoy the soundtrack. I first learned of this movie from an Army buddy of mine. He was a huge fan of the movie and imagined himself to be Tom Cody, the main character. My friend loved quoting one line in particular. When Cody met his nemesis, he said "Tom Cody, dammed pleased to meet you." The plot of the movie is simple. Bad guys kidnap pretty girl. Former boyfriend comes home to rescue her. Mayhem ensues. If you want to know the moral of the fable, you'll have to check out the movie. If you don't want to watch the movie, at least check out the soundtrack. Do you have a movie you enjoy over and over that's not Academy Award material but is just too fun to give up?

I only saw this movie once back in the day. Mainly because Diane Lane is a favorite of mine. It should be remembered Pare got his start in Eddie and the Cruisers.

Wow! Speaking of movies I haven't seen in a while - Eddie and the Cruisers. I'll have to look that one up and watch it again. Another closet favorite.

If it weren't for the music this movie probably would have faded into obscurity. Much of the music was written by the songwriter who penned Meatloaf's hits.

When I think of Diane Lane I think of her as I know her from "Must Love Dogs" and "Under the Tuscan Sun." If I didn't know it was her in "Streets of Fire" I don't think I'd guess it was her playing Ellen.

I love things like the old Indiana Jones, Star Wars and James Bond movies. I have watched most of them several times!

That soundtrack was good. Pretty violent, but the movie looks interesting. As for movies that didn't make the list of Academy Awards - too many to list. Though I did turn on Netflix yesterday and started to watch Phantom until the Internet had a problem. I will be going back to finish watching it. I've seen that one a few times and like it every time.

I second the Princess Bride. I used to watch Dirty Dancing over and over.
