A disturbing thought on Adam and Eve O_o

April 15, 2016 12:41am CST
I don't mean intend to hurt anyone's sentiments but I couldn't help but wonder. Adam and Eve were the only people on this earth. Their union led to their children. However, if the line had to go any forward, incest is inevitable. I wonder how that works!!

You're not the first person to wonder about that! I always chose to believe the Bible stories are simplifications of what really happened, and that there was never just one couple at the beginning of human history.

Hmmm.. I don't believe this story.. It's just a question of what mythology has to say about certain things. That's all! :)

Is that why the priest always call us "brothers and sisters"? Joking aside, There are people who believe Adam and Eve were real people. While others think it's an allegory. An abstract idea to represent the x (Eve)-y(Adam) human genes

May be you have a point there but as for me I have always wondered how so many different sects came about with different skin colour.

That can be explained by Gene modification that happens due to change in habitat. Humans like other organisms evolve according to their habitats. Atleast that's the common theory among biologists.

All religious stories have certain amount of hyperbole related to it. This is done to make the story more interesting for common people. This Adam and Eve story is one such example.

The story of Noah and his Ark is somewhat circumspect as well... A pair of every animal, and his family too?

I agree. Its just mind boggling. Is incest normal in the early days? I think maybe Adam and Eve are just symbols or representation of male and female.
