Bar Council of India imposes uniforms on law schools?!

This is just outrageous. The Bar Council does not have the time to address more important issues pertaining to law schools in India but they spring to action and send official notifications to colleges to now impose a dress code on their students. All after a student from the National Law University of India rightfully questioned one of her professors who humiliated her for wearing shorts to class. Its time the Bar Council keeps to its ambit and focuses its energies on more pressing issues rather than deciding the contents of our wardrobes.
I am angry not because I don't get to wear shorts to class or because I now have to wear only black, white or grey trousers to class. The issue extends more importantly to the attitude of the council. It's about the council getting its priorities right. This move has also emboldened the professor and the people like him who think that they can get away with making distasteful comments about the female students' attire.

I think it's silly to impose uniforms on adult students. And you are quite right that the professor was wrong to mock a student for wearing shorts. I'm assuming she did so because it was hot, and I remember how stuffy a classroom or lecture hall can get!
There is already far too much of men telling women what we can wear. It's a shame that the law students in your country are now subject to yet another level of this nonsense.

Well, the professor got his due! The next day, the entire class turned up in shorts and the professor has been subject to multiple interviews and an official enquiry. But the bar council seems to be too keen on chaperoning the students instead of taking action against the teacher if the allegations are found to be true.

There aren't any shortages of such hoodlums in our country, are there? And then we wonder why after being so advance in technology we still remain poor? LOL
