Playing an instrument

Today I've rediscovered an old passion, which is playing the guitar.
I have started learning the guitar a couple years ago but my schedule was so full this year that I didn't have any time for practicing... Happily, as the spring came, I managed to take some time off and it was totally worth it.
Playing an instrument is so comforting, relaxing and pleasurable; it's a positive energy-giver and mind-stretcher. I started remembering how music helped me over time to face difficulties and enjoy the moment.
Now I feel that I could sing and play the guitar all day long. I wish I could put aside some time for it every day.
What about you? Do you play an instrument? Do you feel that playing one could help you in life?

Good for you, I am glad you rediscovered guitar! I am also a guitar player and recently started agian after a very long hiatus of a few years. It is really something to be able to create music like that. I noticed that my wrist and my fingers (that would go on the fretboard) REALLY hurt after starting to play again. I think my fingers are now getting callused as a result so it's less painful. I hope you can keep up your hobby!

In the beginning, I encountered the same problem...I even wanted to give up playing guitar because of the pain I felt but I couldn't resist the urge to play more

@miruna20897 I have a third daughter who is now teaching herself guitar, and who will take music lessons with the cadet corps (starting next fall) and at school (the year after.) So all three of my daughters will be musicians then!

I believe that music is truly enriching. The fact that both of your daughters play instruments is a proof that they are creative and will benefit from it.
My mother tried to convince my sister to take guitar lessons but she wouldn't give it a chance...
