Some phones are only set up for certain providers which they should have told you when you bought the phone.

From the screenshot, I understand that your problem with your Android device is that you had not activate your Mobile Data where in an place without WiFi would enable you to go online with your Mobile Service Provider - Virgin Mobile. You will have to familiarize with the settings here. If your Android device is rooted then you will need to go to your phone's security settings to allow your apps internet access so that you will be able to use the apps.

@carebear29 I know the network is active but you must turn on the "Mobile Data" in your phone's "Settings" as per your screenshot here your phone "Mobile Network State" is "Disconnected" that means you have not switched on to use the phone to access your network provider's mobile network. This means that you can only make use of WiFi hotspots or home WiFi to access the internet. So go to your phone's settings and activate the Mobile Data on your phone to enable you to be online when you are outside of WiFi range. The phone today has this function because mobile data is not offered in every subscription plans and they are expensive when accessed. So ALL the phones including iPhones comes with this function for users to save money. If your subscription plan signed includes free access to a certain amount of mobile data then please turn it on together with the WiFi - the phone will automatically toggle to "memorized" WiFi as and when it is available to stop accessing payable mobile data network. I hope this will be clearer for you.

Is that your IP address because if not then giving out someone's IP address could be a problem. In fact IP addresses can be public but we shouldn't be going around exposing our IP address or anyone else's.

I loved my iPhone, but it ended up taking a noes dive after about a year, it stopped retaining it's battery life, so now I'm with my droid, which I really don't mind, but at the same time I do understand, like you I miss my iPhone.
