Drunks everywhere!

I am just pulling into my work parking ramp at 01:46 and I am astounded at how many drunks were in the street, even hot rodding in my parking ramp at almost 2am! My city does have quite the night life and downtown especially so. Bar close time is 0200 which is approaching. I also noticed a few swerving cars driving on the road. I suspect the driver is probably intoxicated. I have been to my share of bars on Saturday night although I would rarely make it to 02000and certainly wouldnt be on the road. What is your Saturday night life like in your town? what is it about drinking and Saturdays?!

I think the traffic police can go out in full force, and bring those drunks to jail! They can help the government to make a lot of money in this way. i think even if the fine for first time offender is $100, that will be a good way for the government to make a profit,. and keep the street safe for others.

@maezee They can punish them for being public nuisance, and for drink driving!

@maezee They should certainly be punished for anti-social behaviour.

The city where I live is not a big party town, so it's pretty quiet at night. Providence, our capitol city, does have a lot of night clubs and bars, however, and things can get crazy. But I stay away from those. I prefer to spend my weekend evenings at home.

Nice. I tend to agree. Is Providence as in Rhode Island?

@maezee Yes! I'm right outside of Providence. In fact, I can see the city from my bedroom windows. :)

Drinking on a Saturday night is normal since there is no work on Sunday. Saturday night life is crazy back in the day for me. Nowadays, any given time is crazy with the people I hang out with.

@maezee true, but sometimes, one needs the anonymity with strangers rather than the comfort of friends. At least, that's how I feel most of the time.

I live in a rural area where most people are inside the house before it's 10 in the evening.

@LdeL0318 Ours does at about 5 am. Luckilybars are only open until 2 . Here. I have heard of cities where bars are open until 5-6 AM. That is a city I would not want to live in.

You may not want to say what your city is, but a lot of big cities are similar. Chicago streets are busy all night. I don't live there but have been there many, many times and its crazy.

Yeah it is the same here in this town. Partying and drinking mostly on Saturday evenings, people speeding, etc. Such silliness.

@maezee I'm sitting in a cafe early Sunday morning surveying the results of Saturday night out on the street which is dotted with splodges of student vomit.

I have no idea because I just stay inside my room on Saturday nights and do my chores. I don't drink (liquor) and I never tried it. A lot of students here in my dorm go out on Saturday nights and party, probably their way of celebrating the end of their exam week.

Im glad you are not one of those students. I think college students have a problem with partying too much. Although once in a while it can be fun..

Crime rates and road accidents usually go up during weekends. If you are planing to go bar hopping, better on a workday but you won't be able to sleep late the following day.
