Soaking Up Some Vitamin D

It's 75 F outside with a full blazing sun, no clouds. In other words, beautiful. I spent a little bit of time out there, not a lot, but enough to work up a tiny sweat.
I've had these vines wanting to take over my house in the same way you see vines or creepers covering storybook castles. I decided it was a good time to start getting rid of those vines while they were still dead. I got a good portion of the back of the house done. I was surprised at how those vines took root in the ground. I pulled up as much as I could, getting long runners from around my one and only flower bed in the back yard. My day lilies. They're coming up and should bloom in a couple months.
It's going to take a lot of work to get them all down. I'm not sure where the starting point is, but I think it's on the opposite side of the house to the side porch and driveway.
They've attached themselves to my fence and the small shed in back of my house. I'm going to need to somehow get that shed away from the house in order to get all the vines down from around, over, and behind it. Those vines are even in the gutters, so there's a lot of work that needs to be done.
So doing all that or at least getting it started, I soaked up some Vitamin D. Maybe not a lot, but it's a start.
The rest of the week is also looking good, so maybe I can get a lot more sunshine in as well.
How is life where you're at? Sunny, rainy, cloudy? Anything special going on?
Thanks for reading.

I had to spend my time indoors today. Had 3 clients to care for. Was supposed to go fishing with the hubby, but he had forgotten about that promise. I waited for him to find the tackle box, get the poles ready, and watched the clock. Tomorrow looks like a better day for fishing. LOL.
You were quite ambitious with pulling those nasty vines. I have to get to our garden this week. Hoping to have a bit of energy when I get home this week so I can do just that.

@just4him hopefully we will make it even if it is for just an hour or two. Once the sun goes down it is a bit too cold for me to be near the water.

I don't know if I burned very many, but I guess any amount works.

at least your vitamin D is not as 'potent' as ours here. no clouds, very hot, and humid as well.

It is a lot, but I'm not going to allow it to defeat me.

@Drosophila I really hope so. My son did a great job of clearing out a lot more of them today.

go in and cut whatever you can with scissors then come back later and start pulling out chunks maybe? We are liking the little bit we did to spruce up the front. I need to repaint the front door too.

It's a beautiful breezy day here with lots of sunshine. Those vines will haunt you for a few years as you keep after them. But you will win!

I hope so. I don't get to the back of my house very often since I moved in. My son took over mowing about three years ago and that must have been when the vines took over. I saw them for the first time last year and thought they were taking over in the way one of those horror films work when things get out of control. So taking the opportunity, I started working on them before they came to life.

@just4him It's warm but not that hot. We can have days and days of over 100 during summer.

We got tons of yard work to be done also but finally got our mower working this weekend. So hopefully next weekend we can mow the lawn. I can't do much yard work once I have surgery though as I'm having an ICD put in and you have to stay away from certain power tools.

It was sunny today and its supposed to be the same at least tomorrow. =) This weekend coming up will be special for my family. My daughters and I are going to have mommy/daughter time at a Christian convention for princess warriors for God and the boys are spending time with daddy doing something. Then Saturday is mine and my husbands 11th wedding anniversary so were going on a date!! So excited!

I like reading about Wisconsin because I have a very good friend living there and I can imagine the he, like you, is enjoying the weather. It's pretty good here in Greece too, the ideal time of the year.
