Would you take it with you or would you take it into the teller? It would be a temptation but I would turn it into the bank it doesn't belong to me so it would be the right thing to do. Then ask yourself what would god want you to do?

Better surrender to the bank teller. Your conscience is clear.

I know that I would return it right away as it is the right and only thing to do.

I have found a debit card on the sidewalk once or twice. I took it into the bank and handed it to a teller. The other day I found a rolled up dollar bill and that time it went into my pocket.

I'd take it to the teller and soak up the "karma points." A question I ask my classes (when we discuss Kohlberg's theory or moral development) is what would you do if you discovered a wallet with $500 in it, and you knew the owner to be an absolute jerk?

I definitely would return it. I would be afraid that I'd be punished in some way.

It would be tempting but I'd give it to the teller because I am sure if you found it at the bank there is a lot of cameras. Who knows you may be awarded for being honest by the person who dropped it.

I'd return it. I've actually had the quite opposite happen to me, I went to make a payment on something, even though my payment was $10, it was the money I was saving to make a payment. I dropped it when I got out of the car and frantically searched, so I went back to the car and realized there was a woman who picked something up (which I found out to be my money) and kept it for herself. So I know what the pain's like to drop money and need it.
