Does coffee have to be strong to taste good?

Not being much of a coffee drinker, the thought does come to mind that good coffee would have to be strong to taste good.
Some have mentioned over the years that they 'doctor it up' to make it taste right when it isn't. Bleckkkk-sounds terrible to me.
The photo here was taken by me when serving coffee to others.
There is no way for someone like me to judge if they really don't drink coffee on a regular basis if ever. So, the question has to be asked of those here who do drink coffee---
Does coffee have to be strong to taste good?

Not in my opinion, I prefer a medium or a light roast.

Most we know think they don't like instant, but not a coffee drinker myself and can't see how one would know the difference.

No matter how much I have tried to 'like' coffee, it is just not for me either.

Well, I too am not a coffee drinker. But the aroma of strong coffee is simply irresistible. @patzanthony

I like regular coffee. I don't like it too strong. Keith likes it strong enough to take the paint off of the walls. Normally I make him coffee and when I get a cup I mix it with 3/4 coffee and warm water to bring the toxicity down a few notches! I do think that the medium coffee smells and tastes very good. One thing about coffee for me is the appealing smell.

People vary in their choice of their coffee. There are those who want their coffee strong and others want it light. On a personal observation (I drink coffee too), I think that over the years that one drinks coffee, there is a gradual increase in the craving for a stronger one for the next cup.
