Red Boys in Amiens, France

I was looking for something to write about and thought you might like this photo taken in France, I think in Amiens. In August 2015 we were touring the continent in a motor-home. We had left the motor-home in Albert and caught the train to Amiens. The cathedral there is mind-blowing and I must write about it one day. During World War I, fire-fighting equipment was installed in the upper areas of the steeple and is still there. The front of the cathedral was protected with sand-bags. As it happened, the cathedral came through the war unscathed. We went into the town proper to find somewhere to have lunch and came across these four little fat boys. There was also a red statue of a man which I'll add in a comment perhaps. I think these are done by the same sculptor and I've seen similar in other places. Perhaps someone knows the name of the talented man who created these.

Interesting sculpture. I hope someone knows too. I'm glad the cathedral came through the war unscathed.

The front entrance is really special. So ornate and apparently on special occasions they light it up with coloured laser effects.

I think it is both bizarre and pretty ugly. Isn't it interesting that some people see the same thing and feel the exact opposite?

I've seen a heap of these, same but different. All the same colour and material. They look like they're done by the same person. This one was in Hong Kong.

@JudyEv I don't care for this one either. The face is distorted and the color garish. But I can see the artistry and the skill of the artist. Too bad I just don't like his/her style at all.

@JudyEv while it's very nice, it's almost blinding with all that red. Maybe that was the artists intention.

@judyev Quite grotesque really, but intriguing too, but something so outrageous always seems out of place and offensive somehow, shouldn't really be there. Someone must have been bored that day!
