Dentist & X-Rays

Last week I had my teeth cleaned. Because I just changed to a new clinic, I had to go in today for a check up by the Dentist. She is really nice, and I am sure I am going to be happy there. They had to do X-rays, and because I have so few teeth, they decided to do it with a machine they have, where you stand and the machine goes all the way around your head. I had to take all the pins out of my hair, and I was wondering if I would be able to put it back up decently without having a brush or comb. Fortunately, I was able to go in the wash room and it went up fairly well. I did not have a small mirror to see what the back looked like, but the Dentist assured me it was fine. Have you ever had this type of X-ray done?

I've4 never heard of that being done at the dentist. I've been to the dentist today too and had a filling.

The assistant told me they have been using it for awhile. This new clinic I am going to seems to be very modern.

No, I haven't heard of this type of X-ray. They are always coming up with new technology, aren't they?

@AnneEJ I queried the number of X-rays I seemed to need last time I was at the dentist but they assured me it is a very small dose of radiation or whatever but you wouldn't really know, would you?

Apparently this has been around for awhile, but it is the first time I have used it. She didn't find anything to be concerned about anyway.

Nope, they pull it from the wall and put it to the side of my head while I am in the dentist chair.

They had this machine in a separate room and I stood for it to be done.

Its called a panoramic x-ray. They've wanted to do one on me but I was too afraid of the machine.

@Lolaze It didn't bother me, it is so quick, it's over before you know it.

I don't mind getting x rays, done, but have never had any done by the dentist like that before. I hope that they came back good for you and that you don't need to have any work done.

Yes this is how our dentist does x rays. I had some done about a year and half ago and they had to redo them. Apparently I wasn't still enough the first time. Glad you like your new dentist Have a blessed evening.

Hope you have a nice evening as well. I have never had a lady dentist before, but I was quite impressed with her and also the hygienist that I have. Glad I chose this place, and it is very near to where I live.

It was a lot easier than biting down on those things they stick in your mouth.
