Scenic Wonders

If you were thinking that Middle America was all flat farmland, you were totally wrong. Some of the most beautiful scenic wonders in America are found in this area. Sure, there are lots of farmlands but there are many other things to see.
The mighty Mississippi River has mile after mile of striking river views and vistas, especially where the Mississippi meets the Ohio River at the southern tip of Illinois. My Bucket List (things I’d like to do before I die) includes a ride up the Mississippi River in a big paddle boat.
Then there’s the Blue Hole, an amazing artesian spring at Castalia, Ohio that produces SEVEN MILLION gallons of water every day.
Hocking Hills, Ohio, is a state park that is also known as Little Yellowstone, (but without the smell of rotten eggs.) There you will see many scenic waterfalls and cool gorges, steep cliffs, rock ledges and chasms and strangely named caves.
Mammoth Cave, Kentucky is where you can see arched domes, curtain- like formations and an unbelievable crystal-clear subterranean lake.
Of course, the Great Lakes are in the Midwest too. And there are Sand Dunes near Michigan City, which are very fertile. Even orchids grow there. The biggest sand dune of all, at 190 feet tall is Mount Tom.
There is so much to see. And this is just a small sampling of what to see in the USA.
Have you ever seen any of these scenic wonders?

ME TOO. I love South Dakota. I have been there twice for several weeks. I also got to see most of the scenic wonders you mentioned. Oh, I definitely think South Dakota has a LOT of scenic wonders. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit there.
We saw Mt. Rushmore, of course. And the Black Hills. I just wore one of my Black Hills Gold rings this week. We also saw the Badlands and Chief Crazy Horse's unfinished sculpture. We visited Custer State Park and the Lakota Sioux Indian Reservation and many other places.

@Hatley There is such a contrast in South Dakota or at least it seemed that way to me. There is the lush green of the Black Hills and the stark plains where the wind never stops blowing and not a tree is in sight.
It's all beautiful though. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to South Dakota.

@IreneVincent I'm not sure we have any really. There are some on the coast and round about but nothing that springs to mind that is quite close.

I have traveled quite a bit, but I'm mostly an "armchair" traveler now, watching documentaries and researching different places that I would LIKE to visit. I enjoy doing that.

The Natural Bridge Caverns in Austin are amazing @IreneVincent . And that picture of the waterfall you show is amazing. It gives you hope that there are still some scenic beauty in the USA.
