I have visited the Natural Bridge, on Cedar Creek, in Rockbridge County of Virginia several times. In fact, my husband and I spent a wonderful weekend there at the hotel. We walked under the bridge and also enjoyed an after dark program at the bridge, with music and commentary.
The Natural Bridge was sacred to the Native American Monacan tribe. It has been designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and a National Historic Landmark.
Standing under the bridge is awesome, considering that George Washington was said to have carved his initials in the wall of the bridge and another rock with his initials and a surveyor’s cross was found that gives proof that he surveyed the bridge.
It is known that Thomas Jefferson bought the bridge and 157 acres of land surrounding the bridge from King George III of England for 20 shillings in 1774. Jefferson built a log cabin there as a retreat and several very famous guests stayed there.

@IreneVincent I'd have some of the one in Albany. I'll add it to my list for future posts.

Yes, actually a road on which cars travel, crosses over it. I'm trying to think of the route #. Its probably State Route 11. I'll have to look it up.

Come and see us! The state motto is "Virginia is for Lovers" which means that, whatever you LOVE, Virginia has it. Mountains, Lakes, Rivers, Oceanfront Beaches, History, Amusement Parks. Natural Scenic Beauty, Museums. You name it. We have it.
