Decorating with Rocks

I drive my poor husband crazy sometimes. I love rocks! We will be walking or riding the side-by-side around out place and I will spot a rock I like. It is usually a large rock, not something that we can carry with us and I will want to put it in my yard.
Sometimes we can lift the rock into the back of the side-by-side or sometimes he will have to come back with the tractor to lift and carry the larger rocks I find.
I love using large rocks to decorate my yard. I have placed them in my flower beds or created a flower bed around a large rock. I am glad that there are a lot of large rocks around our place. All though, I am not sure hubby is too happy about it!
Do you use rocks to decorate your yard?

@hereandthere I have a very large flat rock that sits by my bird bath. Jazzy loves to sit on it or play princess on top of it.

Oh I am so jealous. I love rocks too and often like you tell hubby I want that rock. It's always too big to handle and has become a family joke around here. So funny you said that. I love the look of your rocks in your photo. And I jealous.

Thank you, @fishtiger58 It is kind of a joke around here too. It's not very often I find one that is too big for hubby's tractor, but it has happened before! :)

@sgbrown We don't have a tractor but I still moan and complain when I see a rock I want, my hubby always laughs and says he'll get right on it.

@fishtiger58 That sounds like mine when I find a really huge rock! He will say, "I will be sure to get right on that!"

I love decorating with rocks. Have to find some so I can fix our garden bed. The wooden border that had been placed there by the former owner has rotted. I prefer a rock border though.

@sgbrown I agree. Much better than a wooden border.

Rocks, plants and wood as well as the earth compliment each other and would make a harmonious garden design. I love large rocks, watering or wetting them would make the garden cooler

Well, I know you won't laugh, @louievill but I do water my rocks! Most of my rocks have lichens or moss growing on them. I water them when I water my flowers, to keep them growing there. I love the looks of the lichens and moss.

A side-by-side is kind of like an overgrown golf-cart, @hereandthere and usually has 4-wheel drive. Some people call them mud buggies. Here is a picture of hubby and one of our grandsons riding in our "buggy".

Yes, we decorate with rocks everywhere on our property. And I don't know who's worse for wanting to acquire more, my hubby or myself! We have friends who were moving from their home to a rental property that they owned and they had a lot of nice sized colourful river rocks at the home that they lived in but couldn't take with them to the rental place. So they offered them to us. There were so many that they covered the bed of a full sized pick up truck twice. And they are so colourful. We lined gardens with them, put them in gardens here and there and still continue to this day to collect more.

Yes, we have rocks decorating our front courtyard. It's it amazing how the contract between soft flowers and hard rocks can bring out the best in both of them.

I agree and they are "natural" looking, which is something I really like.
