The first one on this list is the Amazon Rain Forest and River. This involves several countries, including Bolivia, Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, France (French Guiana), Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.
With the Amazon River being the second longest river in the world, it touches the lives of people in many different countries and so I can see why it would make the list.
I will find the rest of the Nature Wonders and see what I can find out about each of them. Hopefully, I can complete the list this week.
Stay tuned.

Yes, the Amazon deserves to be on this list of NEW7Wonders of Nature, for many, many reasons.

@IreneVincent I would love to take a boat on it, but I would be afraid.

@Talknpen The Amazon is amazing, but the dangers are many.

The amount of water the Amazon contains is mind-boggling. And the plants and animals are so numerous and incredible, it certainly deserves to be on this list of 7 wonders of nature.

@JudyEv Yes, there are a LOT of amazing animals in South America. I came across a list the other day. I will post what I found. You will probably be amazed, as I was.

@Marcyaz I have a BOOK all about the Amazon, but I'm not sure where it is right now. I've been rearranging things in my house and stored some of my books in a chest downstairs. That's probably where it is.

Tributaries to the Amazon may also be included. I'm not absolutely sure of the actual route. I need to look on the map.

I have been to Brazil before, never the Amazon Rain Forest, nor have I been on the river, though! However, I do have two little stuffed/taxidermied (don't really know what the right word/term to use) paranhas.. Which I will assume came from the Amazon, somewhere. I believe the river, itself, has paranhas in it.. If I am not mistaken!

I have never been there either, not even to Brazil or any country in South America. I have been to Aruba, which is near Venezuela. I'm sure you are right about the piranhas too.
