I found another TV station that shows Ghost Whisperer episodes. Am watching "The Collector" now from 2007 and a guy with her gifts has shown up in town. Melinda just had a good question. She wondered how many people with her gift were put away in a loony bin because people didn't understand what they could do. I remember my mom read this great book when she was alive that she was telling me bout one time. That many of the folks in the mental hospitals were actually the sane ones and the people outside were the psychologically depraved ones. Interesting theory. I've met a few that I wondered about. What do you think?

I have met quite a few people that I thought should be locked up permanently. I remember binge watching the Ghost Whisperer on Netflix a few years ago. It was a great series. A few episodes freaked me out, to weird for me.

Yes, same here. A couple they played the other day. I have met several people who were delusional and should have been confined. Any more they won't confine them unless they are violent.

Oh, I love that show!! There are many hospitals that are on top of burial grounds, come to find out people that they thought were "crazy" are buried underneath. I think we're all a little "crazy" really!!

I loved that show, until it went way too soap operaish for me

I have dealt with several that should have been in a ward somewhere.

I like genealogy, and was watching the show, "Who Do You Think You Are." That day, they were researching the ancestry of the actress, Mia Farrow. Her grandmother had been institutionalized in Australia. It turned out that she had what would be known today as postpartum depression. That is not something that they would institutionalize women for today.

That is so sad. I know in earlier years so much was not known and especially about post partum depression. They have come a long way over the last twenty-five years.

As this haunting and subversive Fun Boy Three song goes, the lunatics have taken over the asylum - insane often just means dissenting
This is one of the few Fun Boy Three songs i like..i either hated them or loved them.. and this is one i love.. !!

I saw the title and immediately thought of the 1965 movie "The Collector" with Terence Stamp and Samathana Eggar--one of my favorite all time movies! There were more sane people put in institutes than innocent people in jail!

I guess I have missed this movie. Yes, I agree with that percentage.

Did you see any of The Client List? I wish they had kept it on.

I love ideas like that. It twists things up just enough to make us think. :)
