In Illinois, the law is that a car must be driven with the steering wheel. A barber is not to advertise prices in the State of Georgia. In Memphis, Tennessee, a woman is not to drive a car unless a man warns approaching motorists or pedestrians by walking in front of the car that is being driven. California law prohibits a woman from driving a car while dressed in a housecoat. In Miami, it is forbidden to imitate an animal. Alaska law says that you can't look at a moose from an airplane. In Philadelphia, you can't put pretzels in bags based on an Act of 1760.

Most of those are quite absurd, although I can understand the California one.

@Marcyaz Restricting the speed of women drivers to a walking pace and warning other drivers makes sense to me.

Yes, there are strange laws still on the books in a lot of states. I like the one about the man walking in front of the car warning motorists and pedestrians there's a woman driver. He'd be run over if he did that now.

These are so humorous. I think we did a post on this on the old Mylot too. I would be curious to know the reasons behind some of them. Some just weren't taken off the books.

Since I live in California, I better make sure I don't run any errands while wearing a housecoat!

Driving without shoes is illegal and I find that to be funny. I love to drive barefoot. This one isn't so bazaar but the name of the law I find funny. Puffing is illegal, which refers to your vehicle running while unattended. I think someone told me that spitting is illegal in AZ. I'm sure that a ton of laws are on the books that were put on way back and just never got removed.

Strange.... I wouldn't have guessed any of these. Lol. I am sure where I live (Minnesota) has some strange ones as well that I am unaware of and probably breaking. But are these laws truly enforced? Is what I would like to know. Lol.

I love this strange laws they used to have. In fact, I decided to look and found a site with strange laws for each of the United States. Interesting that I can't get a fish drunk, I wonder how one would act.
Here are some crazy laws from every state in the US, courtesy of DumbLaws.com.  Some may no longer be on the books; most are no longer enforced. Alabama: It is illegal to wear a fake moustache that causes laughter in church. Alaska: It is illegal to push a

Why I can't look at a moose from an airplane? It will notice me and run into Canada?
