Stress can cause our blood sugar to shoot up higher than some foods and too 'stress is known to work on our hearts. As we already have a lower immunity to heart disease it is wise to have some ideas on how to stop sressing. Read that book A but how Most things are not worth stressing over. One method that we were taught in Diabetic meetings with a nurse diabetes educator is to pretend you have a tough plastic bubble all around you that stress cannot penetrate at all and no matter what is thrown at you it cannot get into you mind as yo u are shielded. This sounds silly but it does indeed work.

The plastic bubble idea sounds good for people that are prone to stress - fortunately I'm not one of them.

I do not stress much either as I know if I do it will shoot up my blood sugar and make me feel awful.

It´s like invisible protection or placebo at work. I relieve stress like that. I may close my senses to whatever is causing the stress and this lessens it.

@Hatley Stress affects the mind and from the mind it finds its way to the physical body.

Sad but true reality: stress went way, way down for my hubby and me when my dearest Mom moved out. I miss the old Mom but not the new Mom.

@Hatley Mom has been my best friend all my life. This last time she acted like one of the clients that I used to care for. I did all I could in those days but I also got to go home at night and let go. This day to day living with a client Mom and my dear hubby was a trap that nobody was delighted to be in.
