Hot, Interesting, Top Rated or Other?

When I first signed up for myLot, searching the site wasn't easy for me so I developed a sort of convoluted goofy methodology for finding discussions of interest to me. But then the myLot Admin folks made changes and now there's the “Explore” drop down box and you can choose Hot, Interesting or Top Rated, Recent and New User Discussions. It's great only… now I can't decide on the “order”. Sorry. There has to be a method to my madness. It must be logical. When you use the Explore feature, which type of discussion do you pick to read first? Hot, Interesting, Top Rated or Other? Do you even use the Explore feature? Discussions. Discussions. Decisions. Decisions. This is really over-working my over-analytical peanut-sized brain.
Pick the search engine of your choice – Google, YAHOO, Bing, etc. and do a generic search for myLot discussion that might interest you. For...

I only use 'Most Recent'. I scan it every time I log on to see what has been posted while I was gone, and I go straight to it after I respond or comment somewhere. I see every discussion posted on the site that way. The other lists are only repeats of what I have already seen.

My order when I first come on is Top, Hot, Most Recent, then the people I'm following's discussions. But before any of that I reply to any comments on my own posts and visit the people who have made them.

Return courtesy and respect. OK! Let me write that down. Just kidding. I have my account set up so that I receive Notifications via eMail when members leave comments or have started following me. I've been told that not everyone sets up their account to receive Notifications. Don't know why not? It's great!

I start under the "Follows" button and look at my "followers" discussions, then later I might check the other buttons.

I start with Interesting and go down the list in order. I always check my follower's discussions first though before going to the Explore feature.

Yes, I use the "explore" feature and whenever I log in to MyLot, the first category I look at is "interesting discussions", then I usually continue with "recent" and "new user" categories. I can't say that I start with it for a particular reason, I guess that's just a habit I formed while using this great site. I generally check the hot discussions in the end, probably because I like to save the best for last.

I'm trying to get into a better myLotting routine. Signing in more regularly and interacting more. But I don't want to feel like I'm fumbling in the dark. This site is one of the few sites where I don't talk into a void. I actually look forward to speaking to my fellow humans. Sounds like you've developed a very good work habit. Thanks!

I do it in random. But I check first the posts of those I follow then go to the interesting discussions, new discussions, etc.

I check all of them and choose the discussions that interest me. Then I post a discussion. Well, I am new here and still finding my way. @cmoneyspinner, it´s nice to see you here.

I usually try to catch up and respond to my notifications first. Then I go to my followers list. Last, is most recents.
