My sons and their wives are home from their Carnival cruise and I am happy to see them safe at home again.
They said they had a wonderful time and I’m anxious to see all their photos. They were sending me some pictures on Instagram every day, but they have a lot more. They also had some photos taken professionally on the ship and they are gorgeous. They had one blown up and put on canvas to be framed. It’s a beautiful portrait.
Their Ports of Call were Dominican Republic where they rode around the island in Beach Buggies of some sort. Then, they stopped at Grand Turk Island where my youngest son did the Zip Line. He said the other three wouldn’t do it. It was only $12 and you could ride it as many times as you wanted to. My oldest son videoed him from the top to bottom. He loved it. He’s done it before in different places.
Then they stopped in the Bahamas and spent part of the day snorkeling in a gorgeous Cay. I’m trying to remember the name of it. Half Moon, I think. Not sure.
All in all, they said they had a wonderful time and I’m glad they got to go and enjoy the week away together.
These two sons who are 14 years apart in age do a lot of things together. Mainly golf. They love golfing together and do it often, even though they live in VA and NC. This is the third cruise they have gone on together and then sometimes they go to the Outer Banks and spend a week there at a beach house.
Of course, they golf while they are there also, while their wives go to the beach and shop.
I’ve had a very busy week, taking my grandson to school at 6:50AM every morning this week and picking him up at 2PM every day. He’s 15 and we had a pleasant week together. He helped me with several things this week. And we had a chance to do some talking about different things.
I also had my great grandson, who is 12, spend a couple nights with us.
I will be glad to get back to my regular routine though. I’m definitely not a morning person. I was averaging maybe 6 hours of sleep a night this week, because even though I was getting up early every morning, I was still staying up late, like I always do. Burning the candle at both ends, as they say. I only took a nap one day for about an hour.
I hope you had a great week and are enjoying your weekend.

Yes, my oldest son just loved my younger son from the time that he was born. He was always willing to play with him and teach him things. As he got older, he taught him to play golf and my younger son took right to it and became quite good at it.
So, now that they are both married and enjoy playing golf and traveling together, its nice that they can arrange to do that. They arrange their vacations to do things together.

@JudyEv Sometimes older siblings are jealous of the new baby, but more often they really love them and enjoy them.

@IreneVincent That is so nice. My great nephew was absolutely besotted with his new baby sister and virtually took over raising her. I think there was about 12 years between them. It was just so lovely to see.

@rona07 Yes, those trip incentives worked for me. And while I was working for the trips, I was also earning a good paycheck, so I was rewarded for hard work two ways and that's a GOOD thing, believe me.
I'm retired now, but I am thankful that I was able to earn all those FREE trips.

All of my cruises were FREE. I earned them from the company I used to work for, selling jewelry. The Bahamas are very nice. Perhaps you will get to visit them some day.

I might be able to share pictures but since they took the pictures with their cameras, I don't have them on any of my devices. I'll see what I can do.

Great that you got to spend time with your grands. I have never been on a cruise and really don't have the desire to do so. A few of my friends and relatives have been on a cruise and enjoyed themselves. For me, I am a beach bum. Give me a lazy chair, umbrella, sunblock, cold drinks, and I am good to go.

I've been on 6 cruises myself and stopped at many of the islands in the Caribbean. Lounging on the beach is fun too. We go to the Outer Banks quite often and we have a time-share condo at Virginia Beach.
