Here’s a few things you can do to stay motivated.
Always have a “Plan B” of what you will do, if “Plan A” doesn’t work out. With a alternative plan in place, you can feel free to relax in the knowledge that even if things don’t work out as you wanted, you’ll still be able to accomplish your goal.
Don’t surround yourself with negatives, such as a coffee mug that says “TGIF” or “Life Stinks”. Get some coffee mugs that depict positive messages. Be careful about the messages you feed your brain.
Make a deal with yourself. If you accomplish your goals this week, promise yourself a treat to which you can really look forward.
Those are a few that I think work for me. I used to be a motivational speaker. I know quite a few more that I will share with you.

These are great points. I'm not sure if I have enough motivational advice for an entire post, but I know one important key to staying motivated is refusing to blame other people or life, in general, for our problems.

@JudyEv That's true, it's a good idea for wellbeing all the way around.

Always. I take one day at a time.

One day at a time works for some. I like to plan ahead and set goals.

I remember a motivational speaker saying most people spend more on toilet paper than on feeding their brain. He was talking mostly about reading good books or listening to inspirational tapes. Your sentence about 'be careful what you feed your brain' reminded me of him.

Yes, reading books and listening to motivational tapes can be very helpful. I even made some tapes for my sales TEAM to listen to. I still have them here, even though I'm retired.
Some people are self-motivated and some are not. If you are self-motivated, you KNOW what you want and you are WILLING to work for it.
I wanted FREE trips and I knew that if I worked for the trip, that I would also get a good paycheck. I earned over 30 FREE trips and always had a good paycheck to boot.

@JudyEv Yes, Spain, Switzerland, the Bahamas, Aruba, Jamaica, St.Thomas, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Walt Disney World, Lake Tahoe, 6 Cruises, Cancun, Bermuda, were just a few of the trips. I have lots of photos and souvenirs. And pleasant memories.

@IreneVincent That must have been very satisfying. I'm sure you loved every one of those trips.
